How can we help?

The questions restaurant owners ask us most. Can't find yours? Send us a note.

Product23 questions

Do I have to type in my whole menu?

No. Snap a photo of your menu or upload the PDF, and Tiza pulls in your sections, items and prices. You check the list before it goes live, and anything we couldn't read clearly is highlighted in yellow. It's on every plan, including Free.

Do guests need to download an app?

No. They scan the QR code with their phone's camera and the menu opens in the browser. No app, no sign-up, and it's built to load fast and read without zooming.

Do I still need paper menus?

Keep a few on hand: some guests will always ask for one, or show up with a dead phone. Tiza gives you a print-ready PDF of the same menu, with prices and allergens, on every plan, and reminds you to reprint it when you change a price or an item. Check your local rules, too.

Do I need design skills?

No. Upload your logo and up to 3 photos, pick your type of food and the look you're after, and Tiza shows you three designs built on your own menu. Pick one, then tweak the colors, fonts or text size, or ask for a change in your own words, like "bigger photos." Your own design is part of Pro, and you can try it free for 14 days.

How is this different from a QR code that opens my PDF?

With a PDF, guests have to pinch and zoom to read a price, and every change means a new file. Your Tiza menu reads without zooming, with big type and strong contrast, and you change it from your phone in one tap, with the same QR code. On Pro, it also opens in each guest's phone language.

Can I make changes mid-service?

Yes, from your phone. Mark an item as sold out in one tap, and it comes back on its own at 5 a.m. the next day. Prices and specials change just as fast, and guests see the update as soon as they open or refresh the menu.

Can I show allergens?

Yes, on every plan. Mark which of the 14 major allergens each item contains (the US top 9 are all covered), and your menu shows them as icons with a key at the bottom. When you import your menu, Tiza never adds allergens that weren't written on it: you review them item by item, because that information is yours.

What languages can my menu be in?

On Pro, up to 7: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Catalan. Tiza translates it, you review each language before it goes live, and every guest sees it in their phone's language, with the same QR code. On Free, your menu shows in your main language only.

Can guests order, pay or book a table through Tiza?

No. Tiza is just the menu: no ordering, payments or reservations. That's why it's quick to set up, and nothing changes for your team.

Do I need to reprint the QR codes when I change something?

No. Your table QR codes never change, whether you update the menu, the design, your restaurant's name or your plan. Print them once.

I already use Toast or Square. Does Tiza connect to it?

No, and you don't need it to. Tiza doesn't touch your POS: it's the menu guests see at the table, and you update it separately, in one tap.

Will my menu show up on Google?

Yes. Your menu gets its own page, tizamenu.com/your-restaurant, that Google can show when people search for your restaurant. Use the same link on Instagram, your Google Business Profile or WhatsApp. For now, menus can't be hidden from search engines.

Can I see a sample menu?

Yes, there are sample menus on our homepage you can open on your phone. But the best test is your own: create it free from a photo of your menu and see it on your phone before you decide anything.

What if my menu has several pages?

Upload up to 10 photos or a PDF of up to 10 pages. For best results, shoot each page straight on, in good light, one page per photo. If a page doesn't come through, we'll tell you so you can retake it or add those items by hand, and the rest still goes through.

What if I don't like any of the designs?

Ask for three more, or describe what you'd change on the one you like best. You get 20 new designs during your trial and 30 a month on Pro, and tweaking by hand doesn't use any. You can always go back to one of your last 5 designs.

Do you mail the QR codes?

No, you download a print-ready PDF: one card per table ("Table 5") plus a general QR code for the door or the bar. On Pro, the cards carry your logo and colors. Print it on Letter paper at home or at any print shop.

Can I add photos of my dishes?

On Pro, yes: add a photo to any item from your phone, and it shows up in your design. On Free, the menu has no photos or logo.

Can I have separate menus, like drinks or lunch?

Each location has one menu, organized into whatever sections you want: starters, mains, drinks, specials. Hide any section in one tap when you're not serving it, like lunch on weekends.

Is there an app for managing my menu?

You don't need one. Your dashboard works in the browser on your phone, iPad or computer, and you can add it to your home screen to open it like an app. You stay logged in as long as you keep using it, so you won't be hunting for your password mid-service.

Can I add other languages?

Not yet. For now, menus can be in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Catalan. If you need another one, let us know: it helps us decide which languages come next.

Can I edit the translations?

Yes. You see your menu and the translation side by side and change anything before you publish that language. Each translated item shows its original name underneath, so guests can order it the way your team knows it. If you change an item, its translation updates on its own in under a minute, so check it again if you had edited it.

What's "Menu visits"?

It's a Pro screen that shows how many times your menu is opened each day, how many of those come from your tables and what share of guests come back. It counts phones, not people: if someone clears their cookies or switches phones, they count as new. Treat it as an estimate.

Pricing and billing19 questions

How much is it?

Free is free, forever. Pro is $19/month per location, and the first 50 restaurants pay $12 for as long as they stay. Every account starts with 14 days of Pro, no card needed.

Is Free really free forever? What's not included?

Yes. It doesn't expire, has no ads, and doesn't limit items, scans or tables. It includes importing your menu from a photo, table QR codes, one-tap changes, allergens and a printable menu. What it doesn't include is your own look: it uses Tiza's template with a small "Made with Tiza" badge, no logo or photos, your main language only, and no visit stats.

Is there a contract? How do I cancel?

No contract: you pay month to month. Cancel from your dashboard under Plan → Manage subscription, or email support@tizamenu.com from your account's email address. You keep Pro until the end of the month you paid for, then your menu moves to Free without going offline.

How does the free trial work?

You get 14 days of Pro when you sign up, no card needed, and we'll email you before it ends. Add your card anytime and your first charge lands the day the trial ends, so you don't lose a day. Otherwise, your menu moves to Free on its own, with every item and the same QR codes.

Someone referred me and gave me a code. What does it do?

Enter it when you sign up, under "Did someone refer you?", and your Pro trial lasts 30 days instead of 14. It's not a discount: the price stays the same. Forgot to add it? Email us before your first payment and we'll add it.

What happens to my menu if I stop paying for Pro?

It keeps working on Free, with every item, the same QR codes and the same link. It switches back to Tiza's template with the badge, in your main language only. We don't delete anything: your design, photos and translations come back if you go Pro again.

What if I close for the season?

Cancel Pro when you close: there's no contract, so you don't pay for the months you're shut. Your menu and QR codes keep working on Free, with Tiza's template. When you reopen, go back to Pro in one click and your design, logo and translations are right where you left them. If you had the founder price, canceling ends it, and you'll pay the regular price when you come back.

Do you charge sales tax or VAT?

In the US, prices don't include sales tax, and right now we don't add any. In the EU, if your VAT number checks out in VIES, we don't charge VAT and you account for it yourself (reverse charge); without one, we add your country's VAT rate. Either way, you see the exact total before you confirm.

Why does my price depend on my card?

Your price is set by the country your card was issued in. That's how we offer local prices in Spain and Latin America. You see your exact price before you confirm, and it doesn't change if you switch cards later.

How does the founder price work?

The first 50 restaurants to go Pro pay $12/month per location instead of $19, and we won't raise it as long as they stay. If you cancel, you lose it, and if you come back later, you pay the regular price. If your subscription ends because a payment failed, pay within 30 days and email us to get it back.

Can I get a refund?

If your first charge catches you off guard, email support@tizamenu.com within 7 days and we'll refund it in full, including any tax. Your menu moves to Free right away, and you lose the founder price if you had it. We don't refund or prorate later months, but you keep Pro until the end of the month you paid for, and if we charged you by mistake, we'll refund it, no questions asked.

How do I pay? Do you take PayPal?

Credit or debit card only. Payments run through Stripe, so we never see your card details. If your bank asks you to confirm a charge, we'll email you a link to do it.

I have more than one location.

Each location has its own account and its own plan. For now, you can't group locations under one account. More than 5? Get in touch.

Can I upgrade to Pro anytime?

Yes, from Plan in your dashboard, whenever you want. You don't lose anything: your items, QR codes and link stay the same, and if you already had a design, it comes right back.

Is there annual billing?

Not yet, monthly only for now. Annual billing with 2 months free is on the way, but it doesn't have a date yet.

Do I get invoices?

Yes, one for every charge, with your business details and tax ID if you add one. You get a link with each receipt, and they're all in Plan → Manage subscription, where you can also update your business name, address or tax ID.

Can you issue an invoice in my country's e-invoicing system?

We can't issue invoices in another country's e-invoicing system, such as Mexico's CFDI, because Tiza is run by Cedano Labs LLC, a US company. With every charge we email you an invoice with your business details, which you can use for your books. Ask your accountant how to report it.

What happens if a payment fails?

We'll let you know by email and in your dashboard, and we'll retry for about 2 weeks while you keep Pro. Update your card under Plan → Manage subscription. If we still can't charge you, your menu moves to Free without going offline.

I see a Tiza charge I don't recognize.

On your statement, our charges show up as TIZA. If you were charged twice, after canceling, or at a price that wasn't yours, email support@tizamenu.com and we'll refund it. Please reach out before disputing it with your bank: it's faster.

Account and security11 questions

Do my menu and photos still belong to me?

Yes. We only use them to show your menu and run the service, and we never use them in our marketing without your written permission. The photos and PDFs you upload to import your menu are deleted once it's done.

What data does Tiza keep about my guests?

Nothing per person: we just count how many times your menu is opened each day. On Pro, a cookie saves the date of a guest's last visit on their phone so you can see how many come back (in Europe, only if they say yes). You're responsible for that data, and Tiza handles it on your behalf under the data processing addendum in our terms. Your menu has no ads and no cross-site tracking.

A guest is asking what data we have on them. What do I do?

Email support@tizamenu.com and we'll help you answer: you're responsible for that data, and we help as your processor. Tiza doesn't keep data per person, just how many times your menu is opened each day.

Can my staff log in to mark items sold out?

For now, each account has a single login: your email and password. A separate login for your chef or manager, just for marking items sold out, is coming later.

I forgot my password.

On the login screen, ask to reset it and we'll email you a link that works once and expires in 1 hour. Changing it logs you out on your other devices. If the email doesn't show up, check your spam folder or write to support@tizamenu.com from your account's email address.

Will I know if someone logs in to my account?

Yes: every time someone logs in with your password, you get an email. If it wasn't you, change your password, which logs out every other device. Then let us know at support@tizamenu.com.

How do I change my account email?

In Settings, enter your new email and your password. We'll send a link to the new address that expires in 24 hours, and your account keeps the old one until you click it. We'll also notify your old address, in case it wasn't you.

How do I stop getting your emails?

Tips and the newsletter have a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Account emails, like trial reminders, billing and security alerts, keep coming while you have an account, because they're part of the service.

How do I delete my account or get a copy of my data?

Email support@tizamenu.com from your account's email address. We'll get back to you within a month, and you can ask for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion. If you delete your account, your menu and QR codes stop working, and we only keep invoices for as long as tax law requires. If you just want to stop paying, cancel Pro instead: your menu stays up on Free.

Do you use AI?

Yes, for three things: reading your menu from a photo, suggesting designs and translating it. Everything it suggests is a draft: you review items, prices and translations before they go live, and you mark allergens yourself. We don't use your menu or photos to train models, and neither can our providers.

Support4 questions

How do I reach you?

Email support@tizamenu.com or send us a DM on Instagram, @tizamenu. We reply Monday through Friday, within one business day. If your menu won't load or someone got into your account, we'll answer on weekends too. For anything about your account or a charge, email us from your account's email address so we know it's you.

Can you set up my menu for me?

Not right now, but you won't need us to: upload a photo or the PDF of your menu and Tiza pulls in your items and prices in minutes. If something doesn't come through right, email us and we'll tell you how to fix it.

I've run out of new designs. What now?

Keep tweaking yours by hand, which doesn't use any, or go back to one of your last 5 designs. Pro gives you 30 new designs a month, and they reset on the 1st. If you've changed your logo and need more, email us.

Something isn't working. What do I do?

If a change doesn't save, your menu stays as it was: check your connection and try again. If it keeps failing, email support@tizamenu.com with a screenshot, what you were doing and which phone or computer you're on. If your menu won't load at the tables, send us its link: we'll check it on weekends too.
